Problems with CAI

Problems I faced with a Cold Air Intake.

Leaves and sand get sucked into the air intake. So for those using those stainless steel filters or open pod filters, take note of the sand.
I am using stock filters so the filtration is still ok.

Advantages of using a CAI is that the car does not have the sluggish feel when driving on a hot day. Fuel consumption is about 11~ 12km/l. This is an improvement from the previous 10~11km/l. Driving habits the sample. Not light footed.

Other than that, no other tangible benefits.

This is the location of the Air intake. It is below the bumper. When driving, should provide a ramp effect.

I had driven through heavy rain and drizzle on the NSW. Should be no problems as long as the front bumper do not get submerged.
