Air intake for altis

I did not take the process as my hands were filthy and my handphone was low on battery.
Anyhow, I had attached some post installation photos to share.
1) Remove the fuse box indicated by the red arrow.
2) I removed the battery as well to have easier access to the area.

3) Remove the catch for the air filter box. Remove the filter as well
4) Remove the screws attaching the air box to the car.
5) Should be able to see the whole air intake. Remove that.
6) Route the new hose to the front of the car. Should be able to find a hole just behind the headlamp.
6) Attach the hose to the bumper with cable tie.

Then put everything back. There you have it. Enjoy.

Problems with CAI

Problems I faced with a Cold Air Intake.

Leaves and sand get sucked into the air intake. So for those using those stainless steel filters or open pod filters, take note of the sand.
I am using stock filters so the filtration is still ok.

Advantages of using a CAI is that the car does not have the sluggish feel when driving on a hot day. Fuel consumption is about 11~ 12km/l. This is an improvement from the previous 10~11km/l. Driving habits the sample. Not light footed.

Other than that, no other tangible benefits.

This is the location of the Air intake. It is below the bumper. When driving, should provide a ramp effect.

I had driven through heavy rain and drizzle on the NSW. Should be no problems as long as the front bumper do not get submerged.
